Watford Borough Council – Decarbonisation

To meet Watford Borough Councils aspirations to reach net zero carbon by 2030, ION Consulting assisted the Council with designing and installing energy reduction technologies as part of the Governments Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme.

Existing poor quality interior lighting was changed for new low-energy intelligent LED lighting, roof mounted photo-voltaic panels and battery storage reduce the energy drawn from the national grid plus improvements to heating zoning, controls and metering reduce the carbon footprint of this large public sector building.

The building will become the focal part of a new cultural hub for the city.
