ION Consulting Engineers are a specialist consultancy practice providing solutions for complex mechanical and electrical building services and infrastructure systems all over the UK.
Based near Southampton, we offer a high-quality service with a proven track record for innovation, a commitment to sustainability and attention to detail.
We provide a complete design and project management service from feasibility, design and contract administration to final completion and handover.
Lead by directors Peter Sheppard and Mark Bowen, our team of experts offer a hands-on personal service to all our clients.
Meet The Directors
Peter Sheppard
Peter joined the construction industry in 1982 as an apprentice electrician and transferred to consultancy in his early twenties. Throughout his career he has been responsible for the design of electrical systems in many different types and sizes of building, both in the UK and overseas.
Peter has worked at director level for over 20 years but still loves to undertake electrical design work, especially when systems are complex and challenging.
He is now relishing the 'green revolution' occurring in building services and regularly gets involved with infrastructure upgrades to accommodate electrical vehicle charging and PV installations.
Mark Bowen
Mark has worked within the Building Services field for over 35 years and has extensive experience with a wide range of M&E technologies. Having worked both in the consultancy and installation field, he is very conversant with design and site environments and has worked at director level for 20 years.
Mark is passionate about sustainability and new energy technologies, as well as having a love of historic buildings and the challenges they pose with respect to mechanical and electrical systems.
Mark formed ION Consulting Engineers with his fellow director Peter Sheppard in 2005, creating a skilled niche consultancy practice where everyone has a passion for great customer service and a friendly approach to delivering inspiring M&E projects.
